Adopt Code-EFABAR

Code-EFABAR is designed in such a way that it is possible to integrate into existing management practices. Breeders can choose either to adopt Code-EFABAR or to have their implementation of the Code certified. EFFAB assists members wishing to adopt or certify Code-EFABAR. For more information on adopting or certifying Code-EFABAR, please contact the EFFAB office.

Adoption
Breeding organisations can adopt Code-EFABAR®, by making clear how they have undertaken steps to comply with the general statements of Code-EFABAR®. These General Statements can be found in the ‘Code of Good Practice for Farm Animal Breeding and Reproduction Organisations”.

An internal roadmap for improvement demonstrates how Code-EFABAR® is part of the company’s ethos and policy. This then has to be communicated within the company after which EFFAB is contacted for assessment and registration.
Certification
An implementation plan for integration of the Code in a management system (with an accredited certification system) is required for certification. Code-EFABAR is compatible with a number of certification schemes.
